Daniel S. Stein, M.D., F.A.C.O.G

President

Daniel S. Stein, M.D., F.A.C.O.G. has dedicated his medical career to creating and implementing precedents in comprehensive healthcare.  Dr. Stein has lectured internationally and is a regular guest on a variety of television programs nationwide. He is widely quoted as an authority on women’s health, intimacy, longevity and aesthetic medicine in popular magazines such as: Redbook, Men’s Health, Glamour, Cosmopolitan, and Mademoiselle. His latest book publication, Passionate Sex, Discover the Special Power in You, discusses critical aspects of health and intimacy. The National Consumer Research Council recognized Dr. Stein as one of America's Top Doctors in 2002 - 2003 in the fields of Sexual Health and Longevity.

Daniel S. Stein, M.D., F.A.C.O.G. is a nationally recognized specialist in the field of laser surgery. He was a Clinical Associate Professor and a Senior Con­sultant in Laser Surgery at the University of Florida. Moreover, Dr. Stein is a founding member of the American Board of Laser Surgery, and widely published in this field.

Dr. Stein has also been awarded over 12 international patents for his invention, GyneFlex™ -- the first and only medically designed resistance exerciser that makes Kegel Exercises work to strengthen pelvic floor muscles. GyneFlex is FDA approved to treat urinary incontinence, restore vaginal strength and tightness after childbirth, reverse age related vaginal weakness, and enhance female sexual sensitivity, orgasmic intensity and sexual response.

Nancy C. Bruemmer, M.D., PhD.

Medical Director

Staff Attending Physician and Surgeon

Dr. Nancy Bruemmer joined the medical staff as Medical Director for the Stein Medical Institute two years ago, having been certified in the technique of Vaser LipoSelection at the Vaser Institute in Colorado. Prior to coming to SMI, she was practiced Obstetrics and Gynecology in Tampa for over 25 years.  She has Masters and PhD Degrees in Biochemistry from the University of Missouri, and an M.D. Degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania.  She did her residency training in OB-GYN in Buffalo, NY and at Tampa General. She has post-doctoral fellowships in Pathology from the University of Wisconsin, and in Gynecologic Endocrinology from the Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, and served on the staff of the Fertility Institute while there.  While at the University of Missouri, she served on the faculty in Biochemistry at the Medical School and later served as a clinical assistant professor at the University of South Florida Medical School.  For three years she was a Senior Research Scientist at Roswell Park Memorial Institute in Buffalo. She is a fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and is an active member of the American Medical Association of Women, the International Medical Women’s Association, the American Reproductive Society.

 

Roger Y. Murray, M.D.

Vein Therapy Specialist

Roger Murray M.D. did his under graduate work in both California and Charleston, S.C. He attended medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina. After graduation, Dr. Murray practiced a year in Internal Medicine followed by a residency in family practice.

Dr. Murray entered into solo, private Family Practice in Altamonte Springs, but after a few years his interest turned to Phlebology. Realizing that there were no formal training programs in the U.S. he traveled abroad and spent most of two years training with the best Phlebologists in Europe. Upon returning to the U.S. he co-founded the American Academy of Phlebectomy. For the next five years he taught dozens of surgeons to do out patient vein surgery. He recently finished a two year term as president of the surgical section of the American College of Phlebology and was one of the first 40 physicians in the U.S. to be awarded a Fellowship. No other vein physician in Tampa Bay has ever been awarded this important credential in vein therapy expertise.

Toni Bagnasco

Vice President of Operations

Toni was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and attended Farmingdale State University of New York focusing on sales and marketing. Toni then worked for Delta Air Lines for over 7 years.

She moved to the Tampa Bay area in 1993 with her three children and immediately upon arriving was employed by a travel marketing company as a sales representative. The company had expanded from one sales office to two locations in the Bay Area and Toni was promoted to Manager of Customer Service and Verification of both locations and eventually to Director of Operations. Even though the company grew to one of the largest marketing companies on the West Coast of Florida and employed up to 400 employees, Toni was able to simultaneously take a position as CEO of a family business, E-Max Distribution, LC in St. Petersburg, FL.

Toni joined Stein Medical Institute as Executive Assistant to Dr. Stein and was then promoted to Vice President of Operations, a position which has opened up many new doors and opportunities for advancement. Toni states, "Working with Dr. Stein has been extremely rewarding and has helped me fulfill a passion in Health, Beauty and Fitness."

 

Miriam Maza

Miriam was born in Havana, Cuba and came to Florida at the age of four.  She lives in Tampa with her four sons.  She received her AS in Medical Assisting in 1988 at Florida Metropolitan University.  She has experience in pediatric, hospital and insurance environments. 

At the Stein Medical Institute, Miriam is the welcoming voice that answers the phone and the friendly face that greets each of the patients the minute they walk through the door. She assists the clinical staff in operating and exam rooms but is always available to greet, calm or reassure all of our patients and staff.  Patient care and concerns are her top priority, and she strives to make everyone feel welcome and at home.

 

Melissa Kennow

Clinical Skin Care Specialist

Melissa was born in Racine, Wisconsin and moved to Naples, Florida at the age of five. Melissa is a graduate of Florida Gulf Coast University where she received a bachelor’s degree in Marketing. In 2005, she moved to Tampa Bay to pursue a career in the field of health and beauty. Shortly thereafter she received her license as a medical skin care specalist.

Currently she is enjoying helping our patients to look and feel their absolute best by offering skin care treatments ranging from a delightful European facial to an IPL (Intense Pulse Light) treatment or a radiance enhancing microdermabrasion treatment.

Melissa will always try to ensure that our guests enjoy a peaceful and pleasant experience at the Stein Medical Institute.
