BOTOX® Cosmetic

Botox Cosmetic has received tons of coverage in the press, on TV and in magazines these last several years, and it is now a widely popular and accepted cosmetic procedure worldwide.  According to Botox’s official website, almost 3.3 million Botox procedures were performed in 2005.

At the Stein Medical Institute, we offer Botox as a compliment to other procedures for a more youthful looking face. Botox works by relaxing the muscles that cause horizontal forehead lines (brow lines), frown lines (11's or glabellar folds), and crows feet (the radio lines from the sides of your eyes towards your temple that are exagerated by smiling or squinting).  It is made of a purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacterium which relaxes the underlying muscles that produce wrinkles.

The Stein Medical Institute uses Botox in conjunction with dermal fillers for wrinkles in the face to extend the period of time the fillers last. With dermal fillers, the more often you move adjacent muscles, the less your filler will last. That’s where Botox benefits. By eliminating the movement of the facial muscles where fillers have been placed, you extend the life of your dermal filler procedure.

If you are not comfortable with injections and Botox, the Stein Medical Institute offers a safe, nontoxic, topical alternative to Botox, Bio-Choice BTL Transdermal Treatment. Bio-Choice BTL has been proven effective in reducing wrinkles and prevent the formation of new lines.

What You Should Know about Botox Cosmetic:

  • Botox treatment lasts up to 3 months and its use should be consistent for optimal results.
  • Botox does not provide immediate results…it works over time to eliminate or decrease the appearance of fine lines.
  • Botox takes approximately 7-10 days to take effect.
  • Stress and depression can shorten the duration of Botox's effect .

Botox can be expensive, however if you are having a temporary dermal filler procedure – it can assist in extending the amount of time the filler lasts.
